The customer
This was a domestic home installation and Little Meadow is a detached, family property near Bromsgrove.
The challenge
This customer asked us to install a good-sized PV system to help them move away from costly oil power and make the family home more sustainable.
What we did
We recommended and installed a 5.25kW PV system using SolarEdge technologies and JA 375w modules.
The property concerned is large, detached and in a rural location. The SolarEdge system was chosen because it is slightly bigger than a standard home PV system and would also work with a planned heat pump installation (to replace the existing oil-powered heating and hot water use).
Not only have we enabled this family to make the switch to cost-saving green sustainability, the installation includes per-panel monitoring. With this, it’s easy to check that each panel is functioning fully. In-depth energy import and export data is also gathered, enabling use and costs to be monitored.
The system is now set to produce just over 4MW per year and offset 1.22t of C02 per year.
To further help this customer move away from using their oil-powered system, we partnered with The Renewable Energy Network who specialise in the installation of heat pumps. A site-specific 12kW air source heat pump was chosen.
What they said
Home-owner, Caroline said:
“Sustainability is important for us and energy consumption in the home is an area where people can make a huge difference.
Kembla visited our house to assess our energy needs and outline the options, and we now have an air heat pump combined with solar panels.
From the assessment through to the installation, Kembla were brilliant. They kept us informed throughout the process, answered all of our queries with a smile and delivered great customer service. They are a trustworthy supplier and highly recommended.”
