Crimson EV Installation

Office building with multiple electric vehicle chargers

The organisation

Crimson is a specialist IT support and recruitment consultancy based on the Birmingham Business Park.

The challenge

Always keen to innovate sustainably, the company recently invested in four new electric lease cars for its employees. In addition, a number of Crimson employees already have electric vehicles of their own.

Crimson contacted Kembla requesting advice about the installation of four EV charging points at their HQ.

The difference made

For this client, Kembla recommended a suite of charging stations from the Myenergi range.

Four 7kw Zappi charges were chosen due to their efficiency, their design, and the fact that they’re simple to install.

Kembla also helped Crimson apply for funding from the Government’s Workplace ChargePoint Scheme. This enabled them to claim back £1,400, reducing their overall installation cost.

With the addition of these new cars and charging points, they are now prepared for the return of employees to the office, post-COVID.

Here in the UK, the use of an electric company car by an employee (rather than a petrol or diesel car) can bring the employer significant tax savings. This is because currently, electric-only cars pay no road tax or Benefit in Kind tax.

What they said

Angela from Crimson said:

“The service from Kembla was amazing and the installation was seamless.

I highly recommend Declan and his team. They were great to work with and very professional.

Not only does this installation allow our employees to charge up during the day; our visitors can now, also do this. This makes day to day operation easier for everyone and has enabled us to take a significant step forward in meeting our sustainability agenda.”
